TLDR Aka Jasper Nguyen, Senior Software Engineer @ Visa Innovation Center Singapore, saved his team 2200 hours annually not to do it. Nguyen created a Slack channel to let everyone to write down their updates in advance, before joining the real standup meeting. The meeting time was reduced from 30 minutes down to 7 minutes on average, which is more than 4 times faster. The result is that everyone can type their updates with status and blockers at the same time, even in advance.
