The world has been taken over by football mania in the lead-up to the commencement of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup will be played by the elite national teams of the member associations of FIFA. After the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan, this will be the second World Cup hosted exclusively in Asia. Additionally, the tournament is expected to be the final with a 32-team field; the field is projected to rise to 48 teams for the 2026 event in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The first game will be played between Qatar and Ecuador at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor.
