The <a href="https://hackernoon.com/tagged/equifax" target="_blank">Equifax</a> breach, which exposed the financial and personal data of 143 million people, has been called the <a href="https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/09/why-the-equifax-breach-is-very-possibly-the-worst-leak-of-personal-info-ever/" target="_blank">worst corporate data leak in history</a>. Criminals exploited a vulnerability in one of its web applications, and siphoned sensitive customer data for more than two months without detection. It remains to be seen just how severe the impact of the breach will be.
