DeFi / Lean Startup / Agile. CEO @ Chiheisen Technology, Ltd. A system engineer at heart.

So let’s start! Tell us a bit about yourself. For example, name, profession, and personal interests.

Hi there!

My full name is Nguyen Huu Bao Trung but you can call me Bin Nguyen for short. I'm the CEO of the startup: Chiheisen Technology, Ltd (chiheisen.tech).

Our startup has 2 missions:

  1. Helping our clients (global financial institutions) with their software development and digital transformation.
  2. Using AI and blockchain technology to support small businesses and SMEs.

I was born in Hanoi, Vietnam but spent nearly half of my life living in Japan.

From 2020, we've become a fully-remote-organization so now, it doesn't matter where I'm living anymore.

If someone asks me: "Where do you live? Where can I find you?", my answer will be this simple: "Internet. You can find me any time on the Internet."

Interesting! What was your latest HackerNoon Top story about?

My latest story is about the meltdown of UST / Luna, which had a huge impact to the cryptocurrency market, and the lessons that I have learned from this epic failure.

You can check the story here:

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

Yes, I often write about AI and blockchain-related topics in FinTech (Defi) domain.

Sometimes, I also write personal blogs to share my life experience. Building a business / a company is not an easy task for me and we've made mistakes along the way. I hope that my stories / my blogs can bring useful information to my audiences about the mistakes that we made and the lessons that we've learned.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

Living in the startup world, I'm often overwhelmed with events and news. This is the reason why I have a habit, which is writing personal notes every Friday night before bed to look back at the events and things that happen in that week (sometimes, to review the decisions that I've made).

Writing helps me relax, slows down my thoughts, and helps me, deep-dive, into the flow of ideas.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

I won't say it is a challenge but it requires some effort to elevate my weekly personal notes to become stories or blogs that can bring useful information to my readers, to make sure that the content that I'm making has real value for my readers.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

I love what we are doing right now and I hope that we can bring the technology and projects that we are working on to (as many as possible) small businesses and SMEs so they can have more powerful tools to grow their business.

That is our mission and that is the reason why we started in the first place.

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

As a CEO of a new-born startup, I have a responsibility to keep my health and body in good shape so that I can perform at my top level 24/7.

I need at least 6 - 6.5 hours of sleep every night but sometimes I stay up late at night to do 'funny' things like building never-used-prototype-systems or debating with complete strangers on the Internet about things like: "how decentralizing the Internet can help democratization in developing the countries?". I love to have discussions or debates with "strangers", and most of them now become my online friends. Talking with people who have different backgrounds helps me keep my mind open and see things from different perspectives.

Do you have a non-tech-related hobby? If yes, what is it?

My hobby is photography and I sometimes use my photos as a tool to communicate with people, to send messages and thoughts to my friends, and to people who I care about and love. "A picture paints a thousand words", right? I also love taking landscape photos.

Shooting landscape leads me to see the world in new ways, it helps me clear my mind, reminds me to live fully in the moment, and to mindfully appreciate nature.

What can the Hacker Noon community expect to read from you next?

AI and Blockchain-related topics.

I will share our stories, and the challenges we face when we use technology to help small businesses and SMEs.

Thanks for taking the time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?

I'm happy to be a part of this wonderful community. I've learned a lot from the stories on HN, and some of them really inspired me to continue doing what we are doing.

Now, I hope that the stories that I share also can bring useful information to everyone.
