What is your current position?

I’m sitting with my legs crossed.

Oh, in tech? 😏Simply, I’m a co-founder. I’m a serial technology solution strategist, best-selling author & Stablecoin and NFT educator, blockchain architect, social impact nerd, and mommy.

How long have you been working in tech?

Full time for 7 years, but I grew up on IRC and worked at CompUSA in college 🤣 (shows my age. Lol)

What is your educational background? (It’s perfectly okay if you don’t have a formal one)

I’m a retired & disabled hospice and mental health nurse. Yup. You read that right.

Have you ever had a mentor? If yes, we’d like to know more about it.

I’ve had many that have given me advice and education when I’ve asked for it. I was very blessed to have emailed BlockGeeks.com owner, Dmitry Buterin. He’s an angel, so after studying his in-depth guides, I felt equipped to move full time in blockchain- Sometimes, I have to cry for help but I’ve been picked up by some wonderful people in blockchain that have done so much for me. Team McAfee is another group you’d be shocked to hear had a lot to do with my work and speaking career in privacy.

What was the best piece of advice you got over the course of your career?

“Love, then act.” also “Don’t get kidnapped” was pretty solid advice, too.

How relevant was self-learning to where you are today?

Imperative. I learned everything bedbound or hospital ridden after a spinal injury and fighting for my life with an autoimmune disease.

If you expect someone else to teach you -you’re not going to learn anything and you could be wasting your talents and/or life.

Knowing what you do now, where do you think one should start learning if they want to work in your position one day?

Everything you can. That’s what I’ve always done. I’m on a mission to learn and educate what makes me excited as I go about my adventures.

Helpful areas for female tech co-founders to study: Computer science, business administration, finance, coding, creative writing/speaking, advertising, and it’s wise to gain knowledge in global events. One does not need to be an expert in many areas, just pick one, and then become well versed in several areas.

What is the work-related achievement you’re the proudest of?

I get to do whatever I want, whenever I want, with my children 24-7. I didn’t get to do that as a nurse. :)

What do you think is the biggest myth about starting a career in tech?

“I can’t do it”

On a less serious note: What do you listen to while working?

Chakra music or ‘gangster’ classical music.

Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us more about your career path. Any words of wisdom for aspiring techies?

Yo, you got this, kid.
