Do you always feel like you are stuck in a major rut? You feel trapped in your job? And you ruminate if you are actually meant to do something in life? And if yes, then what’s that?

All these things will make you feel like trapped in the loop of life with no way out to escape. I know many people living their life ‘awfully’ day in and day out ㄧgoing to work, going back home, going to bed, waiting for the weekend and tediously moving in this cycle throughout without a “passion”, with no purpose.

Our generation, the Millennials, have been trapped inside this bubble for decades, trying to figure out their passion desperately. The best time for them is to change now because life is short to work for something that you are not passionate about.

I am and have always been a strong proponent of “pursuing your passion.” I encourage people around me ─ be it at ProofHub, at home or whomsoever I am connected to and are involved in discovering their passion by identifying something they are born for, something that is just theirs.

A turning point came into my life when I found the real sense of what passion means: what drives me and what I am good at. I can call myself a happier woman now and I have outgrown my passion, as the lack of passion greatly engraved the unhappiness in me.

Passion for me is the driving force:

  • Passion is something that you can feel
  • Passion is what motivates you
  • Passion is what brings thoughts to reality
  • Passion is something you can’t stop doing it

If you are going through the struggle of finding your passion, feeling the burning pain there, keep on reading.

Though the path may be a hard row to hoe, it is something that will take you to a fulfillment.

Let’s dig in.

Life is a Beautiful Adventure — Find your Passion

Explore things you love to do

Do you have a “joy” list by your side?

Keep a list of things that bring you joy, things that come to your mind when you ask yourself, “what do I love”? Day after day, we are doing the same activities without being aware of our senses. When I reconnected with things that really brings me joy: writing, reading self-help books, studying personal growth, painting my nails, binge-watching entire seasons of my favorite TV shows, unexpectedly I found what I loved about life.

You get the gist when you explore. And, eventually, you will start to narrow down your passions more and more. So, give yourself the space to find out the things you enjoy.

Be the Sherlock Holmes of your life

Look around in your life to learn more about yourself. Be the detective of your life to find your passion. There are many unknown things you could discover if you make yourself aware of the answers to these questions:

  • What work keeps me the most engaged?
  • When do I feel that time has suddenly disappeared?
  • What do I fear the most?
  • What are the excuses that stop me to take a step?
  • What are my abilities to reach my dream goal?
  • What dreams did I set during my childhood?
  • What drains out my energy?

All of these questions will simply reveal more of you to yourself. Investigate in your life to know more about your personality, desires, likes, and dislikes, what interests you and uncover parts of yourself. Throughout the day, draw clues about your passions and dug deep into yourself.

Follow your inner guidance

Curiosity is, in great and generous minds, the first passion and the last — Samuel Johnson

Many of us are all the time struggling to find what they are meant to do. They stop following their inner guidance and are no more curious about the experiences in their life. Trust that small voice inside yourself that is constantly telling you to pursue what interests you personally, things that may not be obvious to you.

When you tap into the things that you are told to do by your inner self, you may just find a whole new direction of trying things that you truly love. Be sure about yourself that you will be guided to where you need to be and what’s good for you.

Do not chase money for a while

Are you chasing something that is paying your bills off and providing you a living or doing something that interests you? It may turn out to be a complete waste of time and hard work if you are chasing something just for making more money. Everyone around us is preaching the same, “Chase your passion and money will follow”, and it is quite sensible to believe this. When you know your passion, it will thereby create a definition of financial freedom. For a while, silent your part that makes you happier and secure with money. Create the passionate life for yourself and you can still be delightful.

The power of passion

“It is obvious that we can no more explain a passion to a person who has never experienced it than we can explain light to the blind.” — T.S. Elliot

If passion is your fuel, success is inevitable.

Tech entrepreneurs like Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jeff Bezos know the best-laid plans lie not in the details, but in the spark that initiated them. Those who do not understand the power of passion, prefer to be practical rather than passionate as they are not brave enough to embrace the passion.

Take the plunge

Now is the time to start acting on to take your life up to a new level. Don’t wait for things to happen, make them happen by taking steps towards your passion. Get truly involved with the work that makes you more energized to live your life the way you want.

Are you passionate enough to embrace your passion?
