There always comes a time when you need to attach specific data to a specific user. So, I wanted to look at a few of the available authentication tools built for developers — both free and paid products — to see how they compare.Auth0 is a premium tool that allows for more than just authentication. Okta is more of an enterprise solution, but there’s nothing (except price) stopping developers from dropping it into non-enterprise applications. Passport is free, open source, and well-maintained.
