After an initial listing was found for the title on the official ESRB , Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut. The updated version of the 2020 smash hit will be available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 later this August. website The game was originally released in July 2020 as a PlayStation 4-exclusive title. The announcement confirmed the Director's Cut will feature PS5-specific in-game enhancements. These include DualSense haptic feedback, Japanese lip-sync, dynamic 4K resolution targeting 60 FPS and adaptive triggers. Also set for the Director's Cut release is the brand-new DLC, Iki Island. The Legends Mode and Iki Island expansion will also be available for the PlayStation 4 version of the Director's Cut. Sony is promising the DLC will feature a new story, new enemies, and more. In Ghost of Tsushima, players take the role of the lone samurai, Jin Sakai, who is on a quest for vengeance against Mongol invaders in 13th century Japan. Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut Announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment

Hey Peeps! On March 16th, it was revealed that Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc., the owner of the PlayStation brand, filed for an NFT-related patent. The patent submitted by Sony is seeking to create the digital framework to allow for NFTs to be owned and transferred across different gaming platforms. The filing shows that Sony originally filed this specific patent back in November of 2021 and is now just finally being published. To my understanding, a patent is normally published before it is officially granted to the applicant. This means that we can expect Sony to be granted relatively soon, and as a result, we may possibly see some NFTs hit the PlayStation world in the near future. The video games industry is popping off right now. Firstly, I think this is a different type of acquisition than we’ve seen from Microsoft. I don't think it's much of a reaction to what Xbox is doing, but a reflection of the trending industry: we’e now seeing less of a console war over “boxes” and more over “content”, similar to how the film and streaming industries are duking it out. Acquiring Bungie actually makes a lot of sense to me. Sony doesn't have many first person shooters, or huge online multiplayer experiences. Even though Bungie’s games both present and future will be multi-platform (the language from interviews seems to reflect this more than Microsoft is talking about CoD and Elder Scrolls—I still think that will be Xbox exclusive eventually) Sony is instead investing in Bungie’s tech and experience. Sony already has a rich history collaborating within its studios: way Ghost of Tsushima borrowed its horse riding from Naughty Dog Horizon Zero Dawn was made with Kojima’s custom game engine. I think Sony wants to use Bungie’s experience to build out new PlayStation games that utilize top-tier FPS and online multiplayer qualities— something they were already lacking even before Microsoft acquired Activision. And what does Destiny 2 lack? A really good campaign. I know Destiny has deep back end lore and some amazing raid content, but it's still arguably missing that AAA narrative experience that could make Destiny even better. Bungie Joins Sony in Surprise Acquisition

Recently, the folks at Retro-Bit were nice enough to send over a new gaming headset to review. This is a new KMD Instinct Gaming Headset that's compatible with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 game consoles. Author's Note : As mentioned above, this is a product review based on a review sample provided to us by Retro-Bit. However, these are my true thoughts and opinions on the product. KMD Instinct Deluxe Gaming Headset: Price for Value Considering its price and what it provides at $29.99, this is a gaming headset  that provides a fairly deluxe experience compared to the official Pulse 3D Wireless Headset, which . currently runs for $99.99 Granted this is not a wireless headset, but since it plugs into a PlayStation controller, there's a bit of give and take there, since the PS4 and PS5 controllers are wireless. While this is advertised as a headset that's compatible with the PS4 and PS5, the 3.5 mm headphone jack combo will work on any device that has that combination. I also used this for my MacBook laptop and Nintendo 3DS just fine, and the sound works just as well. Plus it has a built-in, omnidirectional noise-cancelling microphone. So, that means it also works well for podcasting purposes, which I take part in quite frequently. In other words, this is a headset that can be used for simple video or Netflix viewing or podcasting, or online Skype or Zoom calls to cancel out bad background noise or feedback. This is a multi-purpose headset that can be used for more than just gaming and online gaming sessions. This is a wired headset, but it features a cloth-braided cable. It's a six-foot (two-meter) cable that is fairly durable, and I've found that cloth cables last a lot longer for me than rubber or vinyl cables. The cable does have a built-in in-line microphone switch with a volume control knob and one key mute function. Now, I do have a few other from Lucid Sound and HyperX that have removable microphones. This one isn't removable, but the switch does offer for easy one-switch on/off functionality if you are just looking for gaming or media immersion and not speaking for gaming sessions. gaming headsets The microphone is omnidirectional, and thus far, it appears to work exceptionally well for easy online communication for both gaming and also laptop voice sessions. In terms of the comfort and adjustment capabilities of the headset, I was quite happy with the fit of the foam-pads. The headband is adjustable and has a nice fit. Even without stretching the headband, the Instinct headset provides a decent amount of room, and the top area also has another foam-padded cushion. The fit and use of the headset was not overly intrusive as on.com/reviews/gaming-headsetcan sometimes get to be after some of those longer, extended sessions. https://hackerno The headphone areas are not constraining and have plenty of room as well. KMD Instinct Deluxe Gaming Headset: The Verdict For sound quality, after using the headset for gaming and various media, everything appears to sound immaculate. Sound effects and music come in very clear, crisp pristine and layered. I don't have a huge home theater setup with amazing speaker resources, so I'm always looking for ways to improve my sound and immersion experience. This headset is a nice substitute for the gaming experience. And considering, I've had to do a lot more home video meetings and podcasts due to the pandemic, the headset serves multiple work purposes for me beyond just gaming and media viewing as well. Overall, this is a nice, economical gaming headset option that has multiple uses beyond just gaming, especially for players who want that full, noise-cancelling experience but are not looking to spend $100, if not more, on wireless gaming headsets. Resident Evil Re:Verse, the PvP multiplayer game experience previously planned to launch alongside Resident Evil Village, has been delayed for the second time. Capcom confirmed the news this week with an announcement on the official Resident Evil . website Previously, the multiplayer game experience was planned for a . Now, it's slated for a 2022 launch. No exact date or month were given, and 2022 is a fairly vague period of time. July 2021 release Per the Resident Evil Re:Verse Team: "The previously announced launch of Resident Evil Re:Verse for July 2021 is being moved to 2022, so that the team can continue working to deliver a smooth gameplay experience. We will share more details on the launch details at a later time. Thank you for your patience and understanding." "For players who purchased a physical version of Resident Evil Village, we recommend that you keep track of the included Resident Evil Re:Verse download code, or add it to your account now so that you are ready to play when it launches next year." So, the bad news is that this is another setback for players who were eager to try this new online multiplayer experience for the Resident Evil franchise. The good news? Capcom didn't rush a broke, unplayable game experience onto the market. Far too often have fans been forced to play unpolished and unfinished game products that did not have enough time in the oven. Based on Capcom's own statement, the game was ready for release. So, time and steps are being taken to polish and improve the gameplay experience. Is it unfortunate that the game has publicly been delayed twice? Yes, but releasing an awful, broken gameplay experience would be far worse. Resident Evil Re:Verse Receives Second Delay Now, Capcom would definitely be wise in the future to not put a firm release date or period on a game title like this unless they are fairly positive they can meet that window. More AAA devs and publishers should be doing that. Or, even if they have a firm release date, if the game just isn't working and not ready for release, it's time to suck it up and make the hard choice to delay a game. CD Projekt RED sullied the company's reputation and made themselves look terrible with the poor launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Anthem was an embarrassing launch for BioWare and EA. Over the years, I've become less impatient about a game release's date. I'd rather wait a longer amount of time for a game experience that's more well-rounded, polished, and exceptional than getting a rushed, rough product or some sort of live service. Yes, I want to play the new game now, but I also want an exceptional product. Also, I think there's nothing wrong with getting demo experiences in the hands of players either, so maybe problems can be spotted early in case there are any. Good game development takes time. Resident Evil Re:Verse Delayed Again, Finding the Silver Lining in this Cloud

Now, this is definitely just what the doctor ordered: a video game that combines characters from Ren & Stimpy, Invader Zim, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Danny Phantom, and even...SpongeBob SquarePants? It's a game that's already in the works from Ludosity and GameMill Entertainment. Nickelodeon and GameMill revealed Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl this week, and it already appears to be getting a nice deal of buzz online. The new game will be a multi-platform release, and the gameplay looks like it's a total clone of Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. The catch? All the characters are from established Nickelodeon cartoons or franchises. Is including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a bit of a cheat? Yes. The heroes in a half-shell did not originate on Nickelodeon or as a Nickelodeon property. However, Nickelodeon parent company Viacom purchased the TMNT property back in 2009. But it's fine. Frankly, it's surprising there haven't been more games over the years that followed the example of Super Smash Bros. combining the best characters from various franchises for a crossover fighting game. Sony PlayStation did have PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Shounen Jump did Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate stars. But the new Nickelodeon game looks like it's a carbon copy of Smash Bros. gameplay, just re-skinned with Nickelodeon characters. While gameplay definitely looks promising, and getting to have crossover fantasy matches like SpongeBob vs. Zim is very enticing, the key will be if the game is as polished and fun to play as the Smash Bros. games. Considering the amount of NickToons over the years, this game has the potential to have a huge roster. The trailer alone features characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Danny Phantom, Invader Zim, Ninja Turtles, The Loud House, Hey Arnold!, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Ren & Stimpy, The Wild Thornberrys and Rugrats. As someone who grew up watching a lot of these shows and still enjoys them today, this game looks like a dream come true. Nickelodeon Meets Super Smash Bros. in All-Star Brawl According to the official press release, the game will launch with 20 levels. It's not clear how many characters will launch with the game, but hopefully it's not cherry picking one or two characters from certain shows. Some of the confirmed stages include SpongeBob's Jellyfish Fields and TMNT's Technodrome. The game will have single-player and multiplayer gameplay; both local multiplayer with up to four players and competitive online multiplayer. Another bonus is unlocking advanced moves that will be unique to each character. Hopefully, All-Star Brawl will avoid any type of microtransactions or monetary garbage. If this works, Nickelodeon could have a huge, new gaming franchise on their hands. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl: Smash Bros. Meets SpongeBob SquarePants

I believe the gaming community is underselling just how momentous Netflix collaborating with CD Projekt RED for their respective adaptations of The Witcher franchise really is. While The Witcher originated and is adapted from a dark fantasy book series created by Andrzej Sapkowski, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the main reason the hit Netflix series was made in the first place was due to the popularity and success of CDPR's smash-hit, award-winning game series. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first came out in 2015. And yet, since that, the single-player, narrative-driven RPG has remained an enduring classic. In fact, after the first season of Netflix's new live-action TV series dropped in December 2019, of The Witcher 3 sales increasing 500 percent. This was a game that was already released almost five years earlier and had all its content out in the marketplace. And the game was already a huge success that had sold millions of copies across the globe. reports started surfacing Clearly, there was an opportunity for synergy here on both sides. It began with the recent announcement of WitcherCon. Netflix and CDPR would actually work together to present an online, virtual event the TV and game series called WitcherCon. Not only that, at WitcherCon, CDPR confirmed a next-gen update for the iconic Witcher 3 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. But the real kicker is that CDPR will be offering free DLC inspired by the live-action Netflix TV series. showcasing both This excellent news for both fans and CDPR alike. In light of the last years and all the negative stories to come out regarding CDPR, Cyberpunk 2077, accusations of labor crunch, and the exit for a notable team director following , CDPR was badly in need of a win here. More importantly, fans who have had their faith and goodwill for CDPR shattered needed a reason to give The Witcher series or CDPR another look. bullying claims Granted, releasing new content and free DLC The Witcher 3 doesn't even begin to make up for CDPR's past mistakes, need for change in company culture, lying to the public about Cyberpunk 2077 or releasing a broken, unfinished AAA product in the marketplace. However, it is a step in the right direction. It will give fans something they want. It exploits the crossover popularity between the Netflix show and the game series. Also, it gives fans a reason to revisit and check out The Witcher 3 again. Or if fans are checking out the game for the first time due to the Netflix show, it will offer them incentive as well. The Witcher game series is indelibly part of CDPR's legacy. Past reports have indicated the game series will continue, with a new major game based on The Witcher series in the works. CDPR CEO Adam Kiciński has Witcher games in the past. There is no reason not to. spoken about continuing to create When The Witcher 3 was first released, CDPR earned a great deal of goodwill through the game's free DLC program. Other than the significant story expansions for the game, all the DLC were released for the game for free. Even significant updates that revamped the gameplay mechanics that could've been constituted as DLC were free. This is the type of DLC that other major publishers might charge fans for or monetize, but CDPR didn't do that. This included things like new armor sets, alternative looks for the main characters, new story quests, and New Game+. Monetization and microtransactions were still a hotly debated issue at the time in the gaming community. CDPR appeared to be one of the companies avoiding such nonsense, presenting themselves as the good guys who didn't succumb to such garbage. Again, free Netflix DLC doesn't even begin to make up for past mistakes, but it's at least a start and something positive that CDPR can present to fans and gamers alike. Frankly, The Witcher game series and Witcher Netflix collaborations is something CDPR really should continue, including with Gwent and the various other mobile spinoffs the developer has created for their franchise. They should also maybe consider doing some soundtrack collaborations with The Witcher Netflix's music composers Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli. Put on some massive live music concerts with songs and music from both the games and the show. They shouldn't stop at free DLC. The next-gen upgrade for The Witcher 3, titled The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition, is due out later this year. The Witcher 3 Collaboration With Netflix is a Step in the Right Direction for CDPR

For months there were rumors of a "Nintendo Switch Pro" model being in the works. Nintendo did unveil a new model for the Switch this week, but a "Pro" version it was not. Nonetheless, it looks like an interesting new, albeit higher-priced, model for the console. The Nintendo Switch OLED Model is slated to arrive on October 8 for the suggested retail price (SRP) of $349.99. The main difference for this new Switch model is that it has a new 7-inch screen. The standard Switch model has a 6.2-inch screen display, so the OLED model is slightly larger. Previous Switch models were LCD or Liquid Crystal Display, while the new one has an OLED screen; which stands for organic light-emitting diode. Nintendo is promising that the OLED model will have more "vivid colors and crisp contrast." Other new features for the OLED model are a new dock for a wired LAN port, a wide adjustable stand, 64GB of internal storage and enhanced audio for handled and tabletop play. For comparison, the standard switch only has 32GB of internal storage, so this one has considerably more. The new adjustable stand covers most of the back of the console, so it's larger than the normal kickstand for the standard release. At the very least, the OLED doesn't appear to be missing any of the features of the standard model. It can be played at home or on the go. So, no features were taken away, which is good for a model with a higher retail price. Now, it should be noted, while this model does have a LAN wire port to connect to the internet, an LAN wire is not included with this release. That's not a big deal, but it's a little annoying to have such a feature and not the wire for it. It reminds me of how the New Nintendo 3DS XL models stopped coming packed with the charging adapters. Speaking on the new OLED model in a press release, hyped up the "new vibrant" screen for the upcoming release. Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser He stated: “The new Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is a great option for players who want to experience the new vibrant screen when playing in handheld and tabletop mode. With the addition of this new model to the Nintendo Switch family of systems, people have an additional choice of a system that best fits the gaming experience they desire – whether it’s Nintendo Switch (OLED model), Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite.” While more recently, Nintendo has offered some more color options and varieties for the Nintendo Switch, , the OLED model will only launch with two color varieties at launch in October. such as the Red and Blue Mario version There's the white set, which comes with white Joy-Con controllers, a main black unit with a white dock. There's also the neon red and neon blue set, which has neon red and neon blue Joy-Con controllers, a main black unit, and a black dock. Hopefully, more color varieties will be offered for the OLED model later on. Nintendo Reveals the New Nintendo Switch OLED Model While it is a more expensive unit, it's nice to see Nintendo offering an update and new generation model for the Switch. How well this model turns out and compares to previous Switch generations remains to be seen. Basically, it appears to be a slightly more expensive version of the regular switch to potentially offer better visual and sound clarity. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch Lite will continue as the budget version of the console, since its designed for handheld play only. The OLED model will launch on the same day as the recently announced Metroid Dread, so it's actually a shrewd marketing play by Nintendo to have an updated Switch model to launch with a new installment of such a popular franchise. Not the Nintendo Switch Pro We Were Looking For, But it's Something

Warframe’s latest update, Sisters of Parvos, has been released on all consoles. This new update brings additions and changes to the game’s Shadow of Mordor-inspired Lich mechanics, a rebalancing of the game’s melee combat and the game’s newest Warframe, Yareli. The Sisters of Parvos The new Sisters of Parvos are the Corpus’ version of the Liches. They’ll act “as your personal antagonist”, taking over Sectors on the map while occasionally hunting you down. The Sisters are accompanied by high-tech robot Hounds that you can convert to be your companions. Defeating them will present the same choices that defeating Liches do.You may kill them for their weapon or convert them to serve as one of your Railjack Crew members. They have their own unique weapons in the form of Tenet weapons. Like their Kuva counterparts, many of these are reskins of existing Corpus weapons with tweaked stats and new mechanics such as new alternative fire modes. Lich Changes The Kuva Lich system is changing to end within Railjack, bringing them in line with the Sisters. The Murmur system has been changed to identify known requiems faster, a new mod that acts as a known requiem at all times has been introduced, and a gear item that forces a showdown has been added. The New Warframe, Yareli The blueprint for the new water-themed Warframe, Yareli, can be earned by completing a new quest with the Fortuna-based Ventkids. The blueprints for her parts must be researched at a new Dojo lab, the Bash Lab. Void Storm Rewards Void Storms have gotten new benefits in the form of Corrupted Holokeys, which can be traded with Ergo Glast for the new Briefcase Melee weapons. These weapons will be on a weekly rotation which means that you might need to wait for the weapon you were hoping to get released. Our guide on how to clear Void Storms can be found here Melee Rework and More The update comes with a rework that is intended to bring melee and ranged weapons to parity, as opposed to melee weapons being significantly more powerful than their ranged counterparts. While many of the new mods need to be earned in the high-level Steel Path missions, the changes will be felt by all players. This update is a sizable one with many more changes coming to the game such as another round of Tennogen items on PC, new Syndicate rewards and much more.
