Independence, Impact, Money and Mission… As I sit here writing, I am faced with dilemma — a question, one many founders are forced to confront. What matters more: the money or the mission, the impact or the independence? The answer is complicated, and reveals not your character but something more. Let me explain. Start with Why Simon Sinek is a smart guy. If you haven’t watched his TED Talk on the power of “why,” ie motivation, I suggest you do. But first, let me provide some context. My mission is to help startups succeed, as many as humanly possible. I’m a advisor, angel investor and serial entrepreneur and have built solo businesses for as long as I can remember ( ). startup more on my background here Today I am working to grow , our accredited investor network which invests promising pre-Series A startups ( ). The Syndicate more on our investment thesis here The biggest challenge I face is one of resources. I’m a one-man show and our syndicate is not yet large enough to write large checks. This makes securing allocations in the best companies challenging. VCs can cut bigger checks and have more resources at their disposal to help portfolio companies succeed. Which brings up a question… What is the mission? I am currently advising several pretty awesome startups and making occasional investments, but I find myself wondering if my impact could be amplified at a fund. As a serial entrepreneur I find myself asking: “Should I join someone else’s firm?” This is a foreign concept for me, and one I am not fully comfortable with. But again, do the ends justify the means? If my mission is really to exponentially impact startups, isn’t this a no-brainer? Is it selfish if I don’t? Is it selling out if I do? These are the questions bouncing around my head — and they mirror those of founders everywhere, hence the need for the article. Compromise Every great founder starts with a WHY. What is the driving force that motivates you to sacrifice security and peace of mind to put in 80+ hour grueling work weeks? Why would anyone put themselves through that kind of emotional rollercoaster? Is it the money? I hope not. But when is compromise acceptable? When are you sacrificing the mission for money? The idea of the acquisition There are three ways to view any acquisition: 1) a payday 2) a failure or 3) an amplifier. Source: SimplyBusiness.co.uk 1. Paydays Paydays are obvious. You build something great, another company wants the , the team, the customers or to kill competition and they offer a ton of money to acquire you. tech 2. Failures The second type of acquisition are the firesales. Your startup raised money and hit its goals. It is obvious you won’t make it and investors want to recoup their investment. The company gets sold for relatively small amount, no one is particularly happy and everyone ultimately is stuck accepting. 3. Amplifiers The most interesting acquisitions are amplifiers — acquisitions where the acquirer brings assets to the table to help the startup scale and succeed. This is often true with pharma companies but can apply to any industry ( ). often related to business line expansion or distribution deals Amplifiers are the hardest acquisitions to evaluate. Basically an acquisition is like a partnership that could accelerate the startup’s growth and help them achieve their mission but likely means leaving money on the table (by not selling later). Evaluating acquisitions The easiest way to evaluate acquisition offers is to understand what drives your decision? When the offer 1st comes in, what is your initial response? It is impossible to fool your instincts and gut reactions — remember those. Write down in detail how you felt and what your first thoughts were. That is the best way to evaluate any offer. The unspoken stress Founder’s rarely talk about this. Few want to own up to the moral dilemma of deciding between mission and money — either choice can alienate investors, employees or other co-founders. Entrepreneur’s don’t want to face their own scorn either. “Is money really more important for me?” The good news is, there is no right answer. Your gut will usually tell you what to do. The reptilian brain in our stomachs is designed to process information and create subconscious responses to stimuli and past experiences — our own little black box ( ) for making decisions. neural net I once heard a podcast interview where the interviewee said something to the effect of “every time I make a pro and con list, I am either trying to talk myself into a bad opportunity or out of a good one…” I believe this applies to the majority of decisions. Weighing your options Numbers alone won’t help you make the right decision — intangibles are often the most important factors. For founders, this means meeting prospective acquirers and hearing what they have to say. It means taking offers seriously and interviewing employees or past acquirees of the company to understand the culture, red flags and how the acquisition could affect your company. Get a feel for the guys and gals on the other side of the table — assholes are not the best business partners, regardless of the check size. For myself, I’m weighing my options carefully and headed to Toronto to meet with a few firms. I haven’t decided anything yet and am going into the experience with an open mind. Know your weaknesses and yourself I am ADD. I get excited about and often agree to things without really thinking through the details. This can create problems. I know from experience that I need time away from the situation to make a rational decision. And talking things over ( ) helps me to clarify my thoughts ( ). and/or writing hence part of the purpose of this post Before you go into any acquisition or big commitment conversations, make sure you consider these things carefully. What are your weaknesses, what are your patterns? Have you made mistakes or done things you regret in the past? Simply knowing and acknowledging these helps you control the situation. — Pythagoras “Know thyself, and thou shalt know the Universe and God.” (I would modify this slightly ) “Know thyself, and thou shalt [own] the Universe and [be thy own] god.” Selling a business Three times I have decided to sell a business I had built. Each time there came a day where I could not stand running it anymore. I was sick and tired of the day-to-day and excited about exploring new opportunities. While I lacked the mission motivation which made the decision easy, I still went through the same decision making process. Every time I felt a weight lift when the process was finally complete. My internal and emotional responses validated my decision. Yours will do the same. When you make a decision, pay careful attention to how you feel (and how your body reacts). These simple reactions often tell you if you made the right choice. Visualizing the decision and D-day ahead of time can trigger similar responses and help you in the decision-making process. Good luck. Closing thoughts Life is a series of decisions, compromises and actions — nothing is black and white. We do the best with the information we are given and accept the consequences, that is decision making 101. I don’t know what I will do. I am very intrigued by the idea of joining a formal venture fund and bringing my skill set and deal flow to a large organization, but still undecided. You probably don’t know what you will do either. Every opportunity invites second-guessing — a derailer of success. Make a decision, push forward and re-evaluate when necessary. Detours are okay, just keep course correcting. Building Resilient Systems With Retry Patterns

Summer 2023 was a tough time for Web3 projects. Our company was bordering on breaking even with no ETA in sight. While we were looking for new possibilities and business ideas, we worked hard on developing existing products and services. In a volatile space, we had to work in a trial and error mode, with every new project having the potential to make or break the market. When There Is No Market Quite recently, I had a short but meaningful conversation with an IT business devil. I came in with a direct approach right off the bat, stating that my company provides security services for the blockchain market. "There is no blockchain market," was his response. He even elaborated, claiming that there’s a mobile devices market and a real estate market but no "blockchain market." Bold statement, but it gave me some food for thought. The mobile development market cap was , the EV market cap was around , and the wearables market cap was . There is plenty of room to play. But what is the blockchain market? According to CoinMarketCap, the global crypto market cap was about . However, the blockchain services and products market was just . $206.85 billion in 2022 $388 billion in 2023 $71.91 billion in 2023 $1.69 trillion in January 2024 $11.4 billion in 2022 First of all, there’s a huge difference between the asset cap and services cap. Second, if your startup is aiming to take 0.01% of a $206 billion market, it is aiming at $20.6 million. But then, even 0.1% of an $11 billion market is $11 million. Consider: You’re trying to take a 10x market share but gaining half the revenue. At the end of the day, $11.4 billion doesn’t come close to a big corporation number, and here we were trying to claim the existence of a whole market. Despite working in it for years, I had no other choice but to agree with the initial claim of the IT business expert. There are companies, projects, and startups, but they haven’t yet made a market. Making A Market If the market doesn’t exist, why bother, right? There are several already successful functioning and developing markets. And if you think about it, entering them does become easier in time. It’s cheaper, too, thanks to various technological leaps and the options to start from scratch and develop an advanced product. But in the end, we always see the same image: margin drops down to zero profitability. That, however, doesn’t apply to some restricted markets that exist solely based on monopolies. Working in an officially nonexistent space has its advantages. Everything is brand new, and as a founder, you make the rules. There also is a lucky chance event that can happen to a market that doesn’t exist: It can appear. If you still have doubts, you can look back at history. Every revolution, be it industrial or technological, kickstarted the development of not one but several dedicated markets. A company might start with 3% of nothing and grow to 3% of everything in no time, surpassing huge corporations in other fields. It might be a long-lasting success or just a flash, but at the end of the day, that’s how many success stories began. How To Approach A Nonexistent Market Whether a market is new or well-developed, success is impossible unless you try to achieve it. But I’m going to take this segment to talk about chickens. It’s no secret that hens are the point of interest for poultry farms. Roosters, however, often become meat as soon as they reach a required weight. Yet, in many cases, it's only possible to tell the sex of a chicken around the fifth or sixth week of their life. Before that, hens and roosters look identical. This brings massive expenses that go into feeding and maintaining about 50% of the birds, which are virtually useless for the farm. Surprisingly, the issue could be solved: Factories and farms have trained people who can identify a chicken’s sex with and only a day after the chicken is hatched. The best can process 1,000 chickens per hour, and what’s most incredible is that it’s a teachable skill. There’s no theory to that, just intuition and practice: After every attempt, a professional confirms or denies the results, and this happens until the student achieves the required accuracy. 98% accuracy A startup in a new market is similar to a chicken. Most founders attempt to identify its potential after six to 12 months of existence, even after investing large sums in launching the project. But there is another way. Like those chicken sex experts, a founder has to practice and train their intuition so that they eventually will be able to determine the perspectives and potential success of their startup. There is no logic to this; the circumstances change every day, and hard data comes in too late. So the only real skill is your gut feeling—that’s what founders should be training and developing. This skill is the only important and viable advantage for any founder. Conclusion There are two ways to conquer a market. A startup can disrupt the existing field with an innovative product or hope for a multiplier in a market that doesn’t yet exist. Either way, success isn’t guaranteed. Discussion and Reference 4. Conditional OT flow (COT-Flow). In this section, we extend the OT-regularized continuous normalizing flows in [36] to the conditional generative modeling problem introduced in section 2. Training Problem. Following the general approach of continuous normalizing flows [11, 19], we express the transport map that pushes forward the reference distribution ρz to the target π(x|y) via the flow map of an ODE. That is, we define g(z, y) = u(1) as the terminal state of the ODE where the evolution of u: [0, 1] → R n depends on the velocity field v : [0, 1] × R n × R m → R n and will be parameterized with a neural network below. When the velocity is trained to minimize the negative log-likelihood loss in (3.2), the resulting mapping is called a continuous normalizing flow [19]. We add y as an additional input to the velocity field to enable conditional sampling. Consequently, the resulting flow map and generator g depend on y. One advantage of defining the generator through an ODE is that the loss function can be evaluated efficiently for a wide range of velocity functions. Recall that the loss function requires the inverse of the generator and the log-determinant of its Jacobian. For sufficiently regular velocity fields, the inverse of the generator can be obtained by integrating backward in time. To be precise, we define g −1 (x, y) = p(0) where p : [0, 1] → R n satisfies (4.1) with the terminal condition p(1) = x. As derived in [58, 19, 56], constructing the generator through an ODE also simplifies computing the log-determinant of the Jacobian, i.e., Penalizing transport costs during training leads to theoretical and numerical advantages; see, for example, [58, 56, 36, 17]. Hence, we consider the OT-regularized training problem where α1 > 0 is a regularization parameter that trades off matching the distributions (for α1 ≪ 1) and minimizing the transport costs (for α1 ≫ 0) given by the dynamic transport cost penalty This penalty is stronger than the static counterpart in (3.4), in other words However, the values of both penalties agree when the velocity field in (4.1) is constant along the trajectories, which is the case for the optimal transport map. Hence, we expect the solution of the dynamic problem to be close to that of the static formulation when α1 is chosen well. To provide additional theoretical insight and motivate our numerical method, we note that (4.3) is related to the potential mean field game (MFG) Here, the terminal and running costs in the objective functional are the L2 anti-derivatives of JNLL and PDOT, respectively, and the continuity equation is used to represent the density evolution under the velocity v. To be precise, (4.3) can be seen as a discretization of (4.6) in the Lagrangian coordinates defined by the reversed ODE (4.14). Note that both formulations differ in the way the transport costs are measured: (4.4) computes the cost of pushing the conditional distribution to the Gaussian, while (4.6) penalizes the costs of pushing the Gaussian to the conditional. While these two terms do not generally agree, they coincide for the L2 optimal transport map; see [16, Corollary 2.5.13] for a proof for unconditional optimal transport. For more insights into MFGs and their relation to optimal transport and generative modeling, we refer to our prior work [43] and the more recent work [57, Sec 3.4]. The fact that the solutions of the microscopic version in (4.3) and the macroscopic version in (4.6) agree is remarkable and was first shown in the seminal work [28]. By Pontryagin’s maximum principle, the solution of (4.3) satisfies the feedback form where Φ : [0, 1] × R n × R m → R and Φ(·, ·, y) can be seen as the value function of the MFG and, alternatively, as the Lagrange multiplier in (4.6) for a fixed y. Therefore, we model the velocity as a conservative vector field as also proposed in [36, 43]. This also simplifies the computation of the log-determinant since the Jacobian of v is symmetric, and we note that Another consequence of optimal control theory is that the value function satisfies the Hamilton Jacobi Bellman (HJB) equations with the terminal condition which is only tractable if the joint density, π(x, y), is available. These n-dimensional PDEs are parameterized by y ∈ R m. Neural network approach. We parameterize the value function, Φ, with a scalar-valued neural network. In contrast to the static approach in the previous section, the choice of function approximator is more flexible in the dynamic approach. The approach can be effective as long as Φ is parameterized with any function approximation tool that is effective in high dimensions, allows efficient evaluation of its gradient and Laplacian, and the training problem can be solved sufficiently well. For our numerical experiments, we use the architecture considered in [36] and model Φ as the sum of a simple feed-forward neural network and a quadratic term. Boom in mixed crypto wallets are on the rise, but I’ll explain 3 types of Wallets that are generally adopted: These are wallets that are connected to your email, phone, or some traditional web2 login methods. These wallets provide an easy on-ramp for users who want to buy assets from fiat currency but lack in providing ownership of assets to its users. These are centralized products and own the assets for you. Custodial Wallets: These wallets are part of blockchain systems, and lets you own your assets. Metamask and Trust Wallet are both pioneer wallets having a large user base. These wallets are created using a cryptographic Private-Public Key Pair. And a 12/24 word mnemonic phase is given to the user as a key while creating one. Hot Wallets: These are self-custody safe crypto wallets, used for holding a large number of cryptocurrencies for a very long period. These are the most secure form of wallets, providing maximum security from hacks and scams. Trezor and Ledger are pioneering projects in this sector. Cold Storage: There are smart-contract, Account Abstraction, MultiSig, and MPC wallets, but more about them in another article. There are a lot of things to consider before choosing your primary wallet, but generally, you’ll be using multiple wallets to manage your digital assets. I encourage you to use centralized products and gradually shift towards decentralized and secured products as you gain more knowledge and exposure to cryptocurrencies. Exchange Exchanges are platforms where buyers and sellers can meet to trade their assets. These are traditional Order Book Exchanges, maintained on traditional servers with a permissioned listing of crypto assets to be traded on the platform. Although these platforms bring ease in crypto financial features, BEWARE, you don’t hold your assets and most of these exchanges are not regulated by Governments, hence becomes an easy way for owners to get scammed. Centralized Exchanges: These are new and modern Automated Market Maker Exchanges, developed in the crypto ecosystem, to enable the financial markets without the need for central intermediaries. These are complex exchanges and are part of blockchain applications. Decentralized Exchanges: Although these platforms are hard to understand, they allow you to connect your crypto Wallet to trade the assets that you own. If you are new to the crypto space, start with Centralised Exchange. Choosing an exchange is the most important, as this will generally be a centralized exchange if you are coming from no crypto background. Cryptocurrency Is Still the Investment Opportunity of the Decade

It should be no secret that software engineering in the professional workplace is done in teams. And when you’re working in teams, that means collaboration. It’s not rocket science, right? But unfortunately, when stress is high and we all have looming deadlines and deliverables, it’s easy to falter in collaboration. This is especially true when it comes to individuals or teams fielding answers from others. In this article, I’ll explain what this looks like and why it’s detrimental to not only a healthy engineering organization… but to your career. So if you don’t care about everyone else around you, at least care about your career. Problem-Solving + Collaboration = Software Engineering As was already mentioned, software engineering is heavily reliant on collaboration. And what are we collaborating on? Generally, these will be technical problems that require solutions based on software. And that means that you’re building software solutions together. But what kinds of problem-solving are typical within engineering organizations? Which problems to solve – Often handled by collaboration with Product-based roles. How to solve problems – Generally when engineers are working together (same team or cross-team) The priorities of which things to work on – Working with Product, Project, and Engineering Management roles Fixing live-site issues and technical support requests – Collaboration with other engineers, service engineers, and potentially Tech Support or Sales roles. … What else comes to mind? But the reality is if each team is doing this sort of problem-solving, it means that when some questions or opportunities span teams, we have another intersection to introduce into all of this. How To Kill Collaboration When Problem-Solving Problem-solving in software engineering is often like pulling on a piece of thread. We start breaking down complex problems into smaller ones and then realize we have more and more to unwind. Another metaphor we could slap onto this is like following a trail of breadcrumbs, which feels more analogous to when we’re debugging. But the common theme here is that we need to continue taking steps to move forward. And the number one thing that stops someone from taking steps forward is when you put up a wall. People aren’t great at walking through walls — nor is it convenient to climb them. What Killing the Breadcrumb Trail Looks Like So what does it look like to kill things off? I’ve explained this in the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB4qjyRYOzk&embedable=true These are factors that can stop progress in their tracks or otherwise make it difficult for someone to move forward: Saying no to an idea or proposed path forward without explanation or follow-up “That won’t work” “We’ve tried it before” “That’s not right” Not taking the time to understand what someone is trying to accomplish Not providing an alternative solution if you disagree Not providing an alternate person/team/resource if you are not the right person to field it And the sad part is that these are all things you can improve with very little effort. Being Stuck Sucks – Here’s How You Can Help Nobody wants to be on the receiving end of those situations. You feel helpless because you’re trying to solve a problem and you’re met with a wall. But now that you know what that can look like, how can we make it better: If you disagree with the proposal, take some time to ask and genuinely understand. Especially when through written communication, there are so many opportunities to miss context and valuable data points. Explain why you disagree or why something isn’t correct. Providing this context might be new information to the person you’re talking to. Provide alternatives. I watch people shut down ideas ALL of the time and leave it there. And they’re smart people — they likely have one or two alternatives they could suggest. Give the additional breadcrumbs out! Help redirect without deflecting! Take the time to understand the challenge and see if you can redirect the person accordingly with more context than when they showed up to you. None of these involve an incredible amount of effort. Your Career Depends On It I’ll leave you with this parting thought… As you become more senior in your software engineering role, some things are almost guaranteed: You’ll be working on more important areas You’ll be working on broader areas of impact You’ll be working with more people As soon as you get in the habit of blocking forward progress, your NEGATIVE impact is multiplied across all of these. That’s right. Instead of being a multiplier within your engineering organization, you’re now putting up barriers across all of these things which have a higher impact across the board. It explains a playing style named by me as ‘Quantum+ Algorithm.’ here This is the concluding part of this series and provides insights into gaming styles like Optimistic+, Ploppy 3:2 with 0 Technique, and a few helpful logistical details in Game Playing. *Optimistic+ (My Creation) * (Best Applied to Baccarat Class of Games) If you have played any of the baccarat classes of games like Dragon Tiger, Cricket War, or Football Studio – you may find that it virtually is a 50% probability game on either side – not including the tie or suited tie that happens once in a while. Now, in this class of games, the experienced gamer even by using the Fibonacci technique, might still end up losing big. This is because of the long streaks of a specific side winning again and again, combined with the dogged approach of the Fibonacci player and the act of continuing beyond the safe limits without bet auto-stoppers. Now, even with bet auto-stoppers in place, you may not be able to win as much. Hence, the optimistic+ algorithm. The naming of the algorithm is due to ‘the optimistic belief that a side that is winning will continue to win’. Now, rather than betting on a side that will eventually win, you continue betting on the side that is winning. For most baccarat-style 2 card games, this approach will yield more to the player. But you still need to have the safe limits operation using the bet auto stoppers. You can observe from the above that, using Fibonacci, the player started his game set every time at 100 and progressed via Fibonacci series bets of 100, 200, 300, and so on… In the above game, the player had started continuously betting on Side 1, after analyzing the game dynamics, believing that we would get the greatest return on Side 1 using the ‘Never Lose’ strategy with ‘Bet Auto Stopper.’ If you have understood this article well and have played the casino games for some time, you can easily see that he has total winnings of -100, which is an overall loss of 100. This is because he continued with a pessimistic approach that he would eventually win with his bets on Side 1. Now, let us take a look at the optimistic+ strategy. In this case, the player starts simply betting on the side that had last won. In this case, he can either use the progressive style of betting or Fibonacci to place the bets. So, you observe that he has a total winning amount of 700. But you need to combine with either Fibonacci or progressive style along with the bet auto stoppers or quantum+ algorithm. - *Ploppy 3:2 With 0 Technique * (Technique Is Used for Roulette Class of Games) This is a time-tested technique, and the internet provides many articles and videos on how to apply and use this technique. Let me describe this technique once again over here, but very briefly. The idea of Ploppy 3:2 is to increase your chances/probability of winning in every spin at the table. You have to place 2 bets simultaneously, in the amount ratio of 3:2, with 3/5th amount being placed on an even money payout slot like [black] on a roulette table and 2/5th of the amount being placed on a 2 to 1 slot for the top row. For example, if you choose to place the 3/5 bet amount on all [black numbers], you are covering 18/36 numbers, and if you choose to place the 2/5 bet amount on the top row [3-36] numbers, you are covering 12/36 numbers. If we were to remove the common numbers, the probability increases to 26/36. But you have to note that we are ignoring the green [0] in this probability – which usually turns up sometimes as the winner and pays handsomely like 25x, 30x, or 36x. Some of the roulette versions have gold bars or multipliers placed, and as per my observation, it lands on the green number [0] more often. Hence, the chance of that bonus amount via multiplier increases. Hence, my technique is an adaptation of the ploppy 3:2 with 0. If you have understood the mathematical basis above, you will be able to apply it in variants, so as to bet on maximum numbers in one go. For example, you may place the 3/5 bet amount on all [red numbers], combined with a 2/5 bet on the second row [2-35]. You may combine Ploppy 3:2 with 0 Technique, with Fibonacci, progressive bets, or quantum techniques. But the reasoning in Ploppy 3:2 or in other games to place the bets on a specific section or number, coined by me, is called by me as the ate ppearing ection on able (LAST). L A S T So, Betting via LAST works on the concept that the section/number that occurred least frequently (or the earliest in the win sequence) has a greater chance of appearing again. The opposite of this reasoning is the resh ppearing ection on able (FAST). FAST is very close to our Optimistic+ strategy, only that FAST will be used in combination with others, on table games with lots of many numbers to bet, like Roulette Class of Games and Optimistic+ and is ideal for Baccarat Class of Games. F A S T : 31, 28, 1, 30, 36, 24, 13, 10, 29, 0, 0, 7, 5, 22, 22, 18, 15, 34, 34, 35 Winning Sequence on Table (Last Winning Number at the Start) Using LAST Reasoning, My Prediction is that the Next Winning Number will be from the Top Row [3-36] as it occurred earliest in sequence. Using FAST Reasoning, My Prediction is that the Next Winning Number will be from Row #2 [2-25] as it recently occurred in sequence. Please also take a look at the Table Statistics provided by Online Casinos to refine or optimize your bets using the above reasoning. You see that in the above self-explanatory game set, driven by a variant of progressive bets and using LAST reasoning – The player has ended up with +0070 winnings. With few good decisions or using FAST reasoning, the outcomes could have been better. Fibonacci may also be used in combination with Ploppy 3:2 with 0. So, based on the current statistics of winning numbers, you can make better decisions and apply the above technique to win at the roulette class of games. Bitcoin Investors Expecting a Bullish 2024? Most predictions by institutions and experts within and outside the crypto sphere forecast that BTC will soar greatly in 2024. Institutional Forecasts CoinFund: $250,000 - $500,000 CoinFund, a prominent venture capital firm in the crypto space, holds one of the most bullish predictions. In an email to CNBC, Seth Ginns, the company's managing partner, mentioned that BTC could rally up to $500,000 in 2024. He cited factors such as an inverse correlation with the dollar and yields, BTC Spot ETF inflows, and the potential approval of Ether Spot ETFs later in the year. “Bitcoin has a strong inverse correlation with the dollar and real yields, and both are now going down. We also expect the follow through inflows post-launch of the BTC spot ETF, as well as growing excitement around the likely approval of ETH (ether) spot ETFs later in 2024, will be quite meaningful.” Bernstein: $150,000 Private wealth management firm Bernstein predicts that BTC could reach $150,000 by 2025. This estimate was based on the possibility of an ETF approval, which has now materialized. According to a note shared by Bernstein's analyst Gautam Chhugani last year, ETFs are expected to attract approximately 10% of Bitcoin's supply. “You may not like Bitcoin as much as we do, but a dispassionate view of Bitcoin as a commodity suggests a turn of the cycle.” Pantera Capital: $148,000 Pantera Capital conducted an analysis of the shift in the stock-to-flow ratio. The foundation of the model rests on a cautious assumption, as indicated by Galaxy's , suggesting that spot Bitcoin ETFs could constitute a market valued at $14.4 trillion. If merely 10% of the investors holding these funds decide to allocate 1% of their wealth, the resulting capital influx would exceed $14.4 billion in the first year. report Matrixport: $125,000 In a note sent out last year, Matrixport predicted that BTC's price will rally up to $125,000 by the end of 2024 based on previous cycle price actions. “Historically, the years when Bitcoin mining rewards were halved were generally bullish: 2012 (+186%), 2016 (+126%), and 2020 (+297%). As miners tended to hoard Bitcoins before each halving, prices increased by +200%, which would project Bitcoin reaching $125,000.” Standard Chartered: $100,000 Last year, Standard Chartered doubled down on its prediction that BTC’s price will hit $100,000 by the end of this year. Some of the factors cited as potential bullish catalysts by the bank include “turmoil in the banking sector in March this year that helped to “re-establish Bitcoin’s use as a decentralized scarce digital asset,” approval of a Bitcoin Spot ETF and the expected Bitcoin halving event. ETC Group: $100,000 According to ETC’s Group 2024 outlook, Bitcoin’s price could hit $100,000 this year. This prediction is based on several factors, including the halving, Bitcoin’s on-chain metrics, and the adoption curve. “Bitcoin’s on-chain metrics imply that BTC’s supply is significantly scarcer, and accumulation has been more pronounced this cycle than during the last cycle.” Bitwise: $80,000 Bitwise expects BTC's upward trajectory to continue into 2024, with the price surging past $80,000, based on two major catalysts: Bitcoin Spot ETF approvals and the halving event. “Bitcoin outperformed all major asset classes in 2023, rising 128% while the S&P 500 returned 21%, gold returned 12%, and bonds returned 2%.2 We expect that trend to continue in 2024, with bitcoin trading above $80,000 and setting a new all-time high.” VanEck: All-time High One of the 15 crypto market predictions by VanEck is that Bitcoin will climb back to its all-time high in Q4 2024. The main argument supporting this prediction is the political developments expected to take place; around 45% of the world’s population, including the U.S. will go into elections this year. “Bitcoin will climb a Presidential-sized wall of worry. The percentage of the global population voting in legislative and presidential elections will hit an all-time high above 45% in 2024. This high level of important elections augurs high volatility and the prospect of significant changes.” Messari: $600,000 in the long term In the 2023 crypto thesis report, Messari acknowledges that it might be difficult to predict BTC’s price in a shorter time frame. However, based on the ‘digital gold’ narrative, this crypto analytics firm predicts BTC’s price could eventually soar up to $600,000. “We probably won’t see another 100x for bitcoin, but the asset could easily outperform other established asset classes once again in 2024. Eventual parity with gold would yield a price per BTC of over $600,000.” Expert Insights Cathie Wood (ARK Invest CEO): $1.5 million by 2030 Following the approval of 11 Bitcoin Spot ETFs earlier this month, including the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF, Cathie Wood recently reiterated in a CNBC interview that her base case scenario is BTC surging to $600,000 by the end of this decade or going higher to $1.5 million under more optimistic conditions. Arthur Hayes (Former BitMEX CEO): $1 million The former BitMEX CEO has consistently maintained a highly optimistic outlook on BTC. In a recent tweet, he predicted that BTC's price will reach $1 million, driven by a potential shift in policy by the Fed, which, in turn, could trigger a rally in risk-on assets. “At this point, there is no excuse not to be long crypto. How many more times must they tell you that the fiat in your pocket is a filthy piece of trash? Believe in the Lord, and he shall set you free.” Samson Mow (JAN3com CEO): $1 million A Bitcoin enthusiast since the early days, Samson Maw predicts that Bitcoin's price could soon surge to $1 million. This projection is based on various fundamental factors that he argues are yet to be priced in, including ETF approvals, the halving, increased nation-state adoption, renewed quantitative easing (QE), and the multiplier and Veblen effect. Michael Saylor (Microstrategy CEO): $350,000 As of December 2023, MicroStrategy owned a total of 189,150 Bitcoins, establishing itself as one of the largest BTC hodlers. The company’s CEO and Bitcoin enthusiast, Michael Saylor, anticipates that Bitcoin's price will increase tenfold once responsible custodians begin managing Bitcoin. This shift is already underway, especially with the approval of spot ETFs. Tim Draper (Venture Capitalist): $250,000 In an interview with Coin Bureau towards the end of last year, American Venture Capitalist Tim Draper reiterated his prediction that BTC’s price will soon hit $250,000. This estimate is based on Bitcoin’s underlying value proposition as an asset that can also be used for transactional purposes and its decentralized nature. “Having a bank and government decide on what currency is good is not as effective as having a bitcoin where there is a trusted third party, which is hundreds of thousands of nodes making sure the transaction was done properly.” Max Keiser (Bitcoin Community): $220,000 For a long time, Max Keiser has been calling for $220,000, and following last year’s price action and the looming macro uncertainty, he recently doubled down on this prediction. “Keep in mind, Bitcoin trades at these levels AFTER social unrest and societal breakdown are irreversibly causing havoc. You have to prepare for higher prices AND economic collapse.” Tone Vays (Crypto Analyst): $200,000 A renowned analyst in the crypto space, Vays has previously predicted that BTC could surge to $200,000 or higher sometime in 2025. However, in a recent analysis, he that BTC is likely to retrace back to around $39,000 before it can regain momentum. forecasted Mike Novogratz (Galaxy Digital CEO): All-time high Back in 2021, Galaxy Digital's CEO predicted that Bitcoin's price would reach $500,000 this year. And in a more recent interview with CNBC, Mike Novogratz stated that he expects the next milestone to be breaking the all-time high of $69,000 this year and wouldn't be surprised if BTC's price climbed even higher. Plan B: $16K-$65 range Based on the stock-to-flow model, Plan B estimates that Bitcoin’s price will hover around $16K-$65K during the 2024 halving, after which it will trade between $65K-$524K for the next four years. At 2012 halving most bitcoin was <$16. At 2016 halving most BTC was in $256-$1024 range. At 2020 halving most BTC was in $4k-16k range. At 2024 halving most BTC will be in $16k-$65k range. I would not be surprised if, in the next 4 years, most BTC will transfer in the $65k-$524k range. Larry Fink (Blackrock CEO): No specific target, bullish on fundamentals BlackRock's CEO, Larry Fink, is swiftly gaining recognition as a Bitcoin bull, and with the company securing approval from the SEC, it's unsurprising that his sentiments toward BTC are notably bullish. Here are some of his insights on Bitcoin from a recent interview with Fox: If you’re fearful of your government or worrying your government is devaluing the currency, then you could see this as a great potential long-term store of value. It’s like digital gold. It is a ledger, but it’s an international ledger that’s cross-border. It’s bigger than any government. The advent of the Bitcoin ETF is an example that we’re legitimizing this asset class. Stan Druckenmiller (American Billionaire): Bitcoin is worth an investment Speaking during the Robin Hood NYC 2023 Fireside Chat, Stan Druckenmiller expressed his opinion about Bitcoin, likening it to gold’s appeal as a store of value. “I’m 76 years old. I own gold. I was surprised that Bitcoin got going. But, you know – it’s clear that the young people look at it as a store of value because it’s a lot easier to do stuff with.
