Surprisingly, it all happened before the tweet with apologies was posted. Did somebody from the Cointelegraph team post the fake news intentionally to earn on the pump? X (former Twitter) is full of memes like this. There may be other major market players involved But let’s be more critical and think: how realistic is this indeed? Cointelegraph has been present in the market for over a decade since the crypto start. Since then, it has been one of the main sources of information about the crypto industry. I am sure that these guys know very well how it would turn out if they tried to manipulate the market and then benefit from it in such an open way. Would they risk their reputation for that? Would they face a risk of being jailed for insider trading and market manipulation? The SEC doesn’t joke in such cases, and the “proofs” are supposedly there. I doubt. In my opinion, there was somebody who could benefit from this situation, and this somebody was trusted by Cointelegraph enough to publish any news provided by this source without further verification. Did Cointelegraph really make that infamous trade with a profit of over $2,500,000? That would be too uncareful and too evident, especially considering that the trade was made under the news outlet’s name. I think that for now, there are many facts to be unveiled, and we still have to find out who were the major players in this game. How? I believe that the user named Cointelegraph is not the only one who benefited from this situation. Step by step, we will learn about others who earned millions within that hour when the Bitcoin price was pumped and dumped. And the probability that those are the ones behind all the fuss is very high. Meanwhile, the SEC reminds traders and investors that it is not worth trusting everything that you see on the internet, and it is always necessary to double-check all information with reliable resources.

Binance, the world’s second-largest crypto exchange has exited Canada, citing regulatory concerns, and is facing an SEC lawsuit. But wait: maybe the SEC will backflip and suddenly decide that BTC is A-OK. Why would they do that? Because Blackrock has more money than the White House and can make very large campaign contributions. Following on the heels of Blackrock, companies such as Wisdom Tree, Invesco, Fidelity, Citadel, Schwab, and Deutsche Bank have all applied for similar BTC funds. Ignoring all the ‘also-rans’, if we look at Blackrock and assume that 1% of its investors would like to hold Bitcoin, that will be $100 billion entering the crypto markets. That is a big number, and now you know why we only counted Blackrock, not the others. We do not wish to overhype the opportunity. There may be a chance that 1% of Fidelity investors would want in also, which would make the number a lot larger, or there may be only half of 1% of Blackrock investors who want crypto, in which case the figure would be lower. This puppy does not have crystal balls, so we cannot promise an SEC backflip, nor can we promise the floodgates of Wall Street cash will propel crypto markets to massive all-time highs in the next year or two, but markets have risen just on the possibility. Crypto Rally Fueled by Blackrock ETF Application

Bitcoin’s price is up 21% since last week. Some say that’s because of the new and Blackrock’s spot bitcoin ETF proposal. Wall Street crypto exchange Did anybody look at what happened with ? TUSD stablecoin Looking for FUD in all the wrong places While the total stablecoin market dropped last week, over 1 billion new TUSD tokens were minted out of nowhere on June 15–16, when Bitcoin’s price started its most recent pump from $25,000 to $30,000. What an odd coincidence. While anybody can mint TUSD, generally speaking, TUSD finds its largest usage in Asia, not the US. If a big US entity wanted to FOMO the news, they would either do it with cash or USDC, not TUSD. On top of that, the estimated leverage ratio—a metric that looks at the amount of money traders borrow on exchanges relative to the total amount of Bitcoins available for buying and selling—went up sharply over that same time. Fishy fishy. Almost like somebody was trying to pump the markets to make a quick payday. Twitter conspiracy theorists flagged unusual TUSD activity on Binance, too. I can’t confirm that but it makes sense that whoever’s pumping the market does it on Binance. The exchange has the deepest order books and its management has a history of turning a blind eye to these types of shenanigans. No gravedancing yet Looks like we have some shady business going on behind the scenes. Nothing new for crypto. Does that mean the pumpers will yank away the rug and crypto bears will get that massive, catastrophic crash they’re anticipating? Should we expect Tether will collapse or Binance will implode? Maybe. Are you sure you want to bet on that? As you can see in on-chain data that’s too much to put in this brief article, we just don’t have a lot of sellers right now. That will change as prices go up or the “macro” changes. For now, accept the market as it is and plan accordingly. The crypto market’s been known to explode from a little pumpage at just the right time. Sidelined capital rushes in and people waiting for that crash to $10,000 decide “$30k is good enough.” Next thing you know, we’re off to the races. The big news from last week was that BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, has launched a spot bitcoin private trust to give its U.S.-based institutional clients direct exposure to the world’s largest digital asset. According to BlackRock, the main reason behind this move is that the organization is seeing demand from its clients. But there is a much bigger story here for bitcoin than the increase in demand. So let me break down to you five reasons why BlackRock's move into bitcoin is a big deal. Here Comes Wall Street Does it now mean there’s a strong institutional interest in Bitcoin? The short answer is: Yes, likely. The bitcoin community has been talking about institutional adoption for years. It looks like institutions are finally knocking on the door. Numerous large banks like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and UBS have already opened the bitcoin space to their clients. And despite the price downturn in recent months,  Schroders picked up a stake in the crypto-focused fund manager Forteus and Fidelity announced it would allow investors to add cryptocurrencies to their 401(k) retirement schemes. In other words, institutional adoption is here. As former Grayscale CEO Barry Silbert commented on BlackRock's move, "Here comes Wall Street." Bitcoin to $300k Anthony Scaramucci, founder and managing partner of Skybridge Capital, who briefly served as former President Donald Trump’s communications director in 2017, believes BlackRock’s Bitcoin trust will contribute to a demand shock for bitcoin that will send its price to another level. He said that the “future” is arriving sooner than he thought and predicted that Bitcoin will reach $300,000 per coin within a few years. Cathie Wood from ARK Invest is more conservative. She believes the entry of BlackRock into the crypto world will only double the bitcoin price. She notes that if you applied that 2.5% rule to BlackRock’s $40 trillion platform, that translates to more than $1 trillion worth of demand. That level of demand would “more than double” bitcoin’s price. ESG Compliant Bitcoin The bitcoin network runs on an energy-intensive blockchain system and has been criticized for its carbon footprint and broader environmental impact. While most of the adverse environmental effects have been proven wrong, some concerns about ESG still prevail. The acronym ESG stands for environmental, social, and governance, and BlackRock considers itself a leader in ESG investments. However, the new BlackRock’s Bitcoin trust eliminated all the doubt about bitcoin's sustainability. In other words, an ESG investment leader would not begin allocating billions of clients’ funds in bitcoin if they regarded it as not environmentally friendly. Spot ETF on the Horizon While futures-based Bitcoin ETFs have already been approved, the SEC has repeatedly rejected spot Bitcoin ETF applications from firms like Grayscale or Fidelity Investments. Some bitcoin-friendly investment managers say they’re hopeful that BlackRock’s investment trust will boost the probability of a spot Bitcoin ETF approval. said Anthony Scaramucci. “One of the biggest, most established traditional finance players has made a major entrance into crypto space (and possibly the bitcoin ETF sweepstakes, too, as a trust can be converted into an ETF),” In short, BlackRock will likely convince the SEC to change its attitude towards spot bitcoin ETF. Final Thought It is undeniable that bitcoin investors are the ultimate winners here. Bitcoin has a fixed supply of 21 million coins, and the influx of new demand from large institutions would catalyze further price recovery. However, it’s also important to remember the more Wall Street institutions enter bitcoin, the more open it will be to market manipulation.
