AI and robots are expected to take over a variety of jobs in the future, particularly those involving repetitive tasks, data processing, and pattern recognition. In manufacturing and assembly, robots will handle tasks such as welding, painting, and assembly line work, as well as quality control and inspection processes. In logistics and warehousing, AI will manage inventory, handle picking, packing, and shipping tasks, and enable autonomous delivery and transportation. Customer service and support are already seeing chatbots and virtual assistants taking over basic customer inquiries and support tickets, along with automated phone systems. Data entry and analysis tasks, including processing large volumes of data, routine data entry, and initial data analysis and report generation, will be largely automated. In finance, AI will handle automated trading, financial analysis, fraud detection, risk assessment, and routine administrative tasks like invoicing and payroll. We already see the use of drones and automated machinery in agriculture for precision farming, planting, watering, and harvesting crops, as well as monitoring crop health and soil conditions. Several companies, including Musk’s Tesla, are working on developing technology that will transform transportation with self-driving vehicles for public transport and delivery, along with traffic management and route optimization. Maintenance and cleaning tasks in offices and public spaces will be handled by automated systems, while AI will also manage the maintenance and inspection of infrastructure. Shipping, agritech and water access: Leverage satellite IoT Astrocast believes that satellite technologies can drive progress and digitally transform industries that are roadblocked by a lack of connectivity. It can now offer its customers full visibility at an affordable price. “Oceans are the least connected places, and maritime assets constantly travel in and out of terrestrial networks,” Jordan said. “Very similar constraints also apply to the land transport and rail industries, crossing vast and unconnected remote areas.” Another company that found value in satellite connectivity is —a pioneer in agritech driving agriculture 4.0 technology. Avirtech, with important operations in Southeast Asia, especially in areas where terrestrial networks are unavailable, is helping transform the global agriculture sensor market while impacting local populations by providing them access to cutting-edge farming technology. Avirtech Using smart IoT devices connected via satellite through Astrocast, the new Avirtech system can provide crop intelligence. This includes plantation control systems that monitor site and conditions to reduce operational costs and increase yields. “We believe this partnership puts Astrocast in a very good position to support the acceleration of smart farming deployment in these regions,” Jordan added. “The most affected sectors by lack of connectivity are agriculture and livestock, maritime, oil and gas, and environmental and utilities,” Jordan explained. “These are usually industries that have assets in rural areas, but the use case does not necessarily justify the enormous investment to legacy satellite connectivity.” On December 19, Swiss integrator Oratek working with , a Swiss foundation dedicated to improving access to drinking water, health, education, and jobs, partnered up with Astrocast to add satellite connectivity to water systems in Senegal. Access to Water Astrocast explained that the classifies Senegal as a water-poor country. Approximately 20% of the country’s population does not have access to clean water. The latest generation of Access to Water’s purification filters can treat dirty, polluted, or brackish raw water. Now, thanks to new satellite IoT technology—in addition to producing clean water—these filters are collecting important information such as water quality, usage, and equipment status. The information benefits rural populations and the foundation, helping them better manage resources, maintain the systems and filters, and make key decisions. United Nations “Because these locations are extremely remote, they are not accessible by any standard communication network. The only way to collect and share this information is through a satellite connection, an approach that until recently was deemed too expensive for this type of use case,” Aurelien Essig, Founder of Oratek explained. Oratek opted to implement Astrocast’s nanosatellite solution, which provides a highly cost-effective approach to achieving satellite connectivity. But how does the technology work? The Earth-Space network technology approach To establish communication via the Astrocast Network, the system integrator or device manufacturer must integrate the Astronode S modem together with a small L-band antenna into the device and configure the application. The device will then be able to send its IoT data to Astrocast’s satellites using a store and forward approach. “Data is then downloaded from the satellites to a network of ground stations and then to our servers, available through an online portal or our APIs,” Jordan explained. Low-power consumption is absolutely critical for direct-to-satellite IoT. “We are often talking about battery-powered devices to track moving assets, such as containers, animals, and machinery,” Jordan added. “You need your assets to be as autonomous as possible, running for several years without human intervention.” Thanks to the introduction of new technologies that allow the miniaturization of satellites, and thanks to easier commercial access to space, a constellation like Astrocast allows services to be very cost-effective, more than three times less expensive than legacy operators. You know what… a small… no not so little at that time… a BIGGGGGG surprise waiting for me in my email. Please look below for the email…. My flight is scheduled at 11:30 AM, but I got an email from “ ” asking for feedback on my trip from JAX to NY…. You could imagine how my thought process is for next couple of minutes… Am sure I know the flight is at 11:30 AM, still this inappropriate email make me to panic for a while. MakeMyTrip All is well. But you could see how it impacts someone in the early morning. It is prevalent I face during my sales meetings with the prospect. The prospect who am speaking with is from a marketing background. He runs a very successful business for last 15 years. He has a software product idea to build. Because of his experience, he wants to understand more about the software business and the product development. He has more questions than the people I spoke earlier. The discussion was so long than the standard sales calls. At some point time, I had communicated to him saying that I will send some web references. I thought he could read and understand the concepts on his own. The requirements for software project development is never ending phenomenon. But the references are not very recent. So decided to write about this topic on my own. Essential point first: ” Requirements are the key for any project success.” To start the discussion, In the current scenario, one should understand that on any steps to develop a software product: Technology may change Increased Knowledge levels of product users New Project execution models added in the tool kit every other day Skills of the team are different Tools to support development are abundant Most of all, I can go on to add more such points. But whatever am going to add one thing is not going to change. Yes, that is “Requirements” gathering . There are right tools available to gather requirements now. But the human touch on the work is never changed. Well-documented requirements indicate the half built product. Here are some helpful tips that can be used to gather requirements for a software product:- 1) Product owner Cooperation: First of all, all great development experience starts with this one. The should accept the fact on the importance of documenting the requirements. Time bound discussions which converted into black & white documents are the foundation for the success. The time spent on this requirements document will never go redundant. The mutual trust and cooperation are very critical. product owner 2) Right Tool: In addition, You have to choose the right tool to document the requirements. Tools should be easy to use for nontechnical stake holders too. The tool should cover all the aspects of the requirements such as user stories, validation criteria, discussion board, etc. We use “ ” to capture requirements. Trello 3) Objective Based Meetings: The scheduled to understand the requirements should be objective based. If the discussion is boundless, there is a good chance of missing the peak. Adequate exploration of the Grey areas is mandatory. There should not be any assumptions or conclusion less pending points. meetings 4) Make it Visual: The screen of the software application should capture visually by the business analyst. The visual representation helps a lot to come to a common understanding. The vision of the software product will get better with better visuals. This visual not necessarily have to be HTML. A screen drawn on paper with the pencil could help too. We use to capture the screen mock-ups. Product stakeholders could see the moving parts of the application even before it’s developed in the mockups. Balsamiq Balsamiq 5) Technical Landscape: When the idea is discussed to document the requirements it is always a good practice to avoid thinking about technological landscape. The intention of the requirement gathering is to document the business need first. There may be a ready-made technical solution available. “Technical” discussion needs to happen on the “ ” phase. To think about technical bottlenecks in the requirements gathering phase might impact the documentation process. Solutioning 6) Process Standards: In requirements phase, the stake holders would define the “Process Standards” also. Mutual Acceptance on the following are important: Ways to track the user stories for development How the screen mocks will be tracked against user stories How to map (Unit, System, Integration) against user stories test cases Ways to manage back logs in the development cycle How to execute the verification & validation process Again these are some basic questions to start the brainstorming on the process aspect. Ensure sufficient information regarding the process standards are discussed and accepted during the collection of Requirements For Software Project. 7) Nonfunctional requirements: Requirements For Software Project is not only for the “Functional” aspect of the product. Consequently, there are many unknown “Non-Functional” things comes as part of the package. A total number of application users, security, compatibility, etc. are few of the non-functional requirements we have to take care. These expectations are very critical. It might take more time to root out these non-functional requirements. But a proper questionnaire, educating the stakeholders on this topic, brainstorming, etc. would help to bring out the hidden expectations about the software product. More on my experience: Trust me; we had a great deal with 7 points in all the software products we develop in the near past. We could see a clear pattern of the product success reasoning which caters towards these points. The minimum viable product is that version of a new product which allows a team to collect the maximum amount of validated learning about customers with the least effort. MVP Minimum Viable Product Real time scenario now. Customers says,”Give me a set of features… X, Y,Z..”. We do what they want. Sometimes we take our own path and conflict the interest. Soon we end up in trouble. The focus has to be set right from the beginning. Customers will have two type of constraints in product life cycle. It will be either or both, time and money. One way out to solve the riddle is MVP. The Idea: By MVP the high level goal can be to Validate the idea or remove the doubts about assumptions. There is no point in building a high cost unusable product. It easy to test water/market with a MVP. Thats why most of the entrepreneurs or product owners take this path. Fact is some times even for better products there won’t be any paying customers. We have to move on. The Bucket: Ok, now we agree to build a MVP. What functionalities are going to be part of MVP? Thats always a big question. We may feel that our product customers needs all functionalities we think about. We might be uncomfortable to remove any features from MVP bucket. Educating about MVP is the key. All features are good to have, but not on MVP stage. It’s important to ensure that an MVP can be “minimal” set of major dream. In fact it doesn’t have to be a “Product” also. The Craft: Functionalities listed for in-scope. Timeline fixed and agreed. Generally timeline will be anywhere between 6–12 weeks. Now we have to speed up the development. Best way is to find all the possible tools & products which could be integrated. Right platform, right tools, right third party products will help to reach MVP goals sooner. Sometimes we might end up building a throw-away stuff. That’s Ok too. The GOAL is just to verify the idea and test the market. The Secret: Its not necessary, we have to reuse the code of MVP for main product. It will be Good if we can do so. Actually an Awesome truth of the Positive Reality — MVP

This is all about business. We are always after clients. We need more business. We need cash flow. We need revenue. We need Growth. so we need projects to execute. But will there be any reason to avoid the projects? . Sometimes “Yes”. why not I always talk about adding value to clients and their projects. I used to talk about this to my associates and business partners. The success of an idea depends on the value addition added by the stake holders. But you have to be very careful that how the value addition is happening. I have been dealing with projects/products and clients for last 8 years. To adhere to the topic of the blog I do say “Yes”. “Yes” for avoiding some of the projects. There may be so many reasons to it. They are logical most of the times. Sometimes the decision is based on the emotional intuition. One of the new entrepreneurs was talking about this to me over the weekend. He is very worried to say “No” to the projects or “Clients”. Am listening to him till he voices out all his mental model. Once it is over, I had started my point of view. I never tried to substantiate my views. From my previous experience, I gave 5 situations/questions on when to take a stand. When prospect never understands what a “Value Proposition” is When prospect only talks about “Discounts” When prospect mentioning about your employees “Salary” in discussions When prospect talks about “Cheap” living style of nationalities When prospect gives mirage promise on “Long Term” contracts. [always has a 1-month notice clause :)] I could see when a prospect revolved around 3 or more of the above 5 points, I will be more cautious. The situation is tough to access. It is not about saying “Yes”, but a great dilemma on how to say “No”. I could remember around 5 situations on top of my head where I had a similar . It was a tough call for saying “No” to a new project. But I did. The role demanded an almost 24/7 commitment, often with late-night company meetings. Despite the exhaustion, I was driven by a deep desire to contribute meaningfully, gain valuable experience, and build a foundation of market-based knowledge. Fortunately, the company not only incentivized these aspirations but also refrained from imposing limits on workload. Within just two months, my dedication led to a promotion, elevating me to a position where I led entire client projects and managed a cross-functional team. The stereotypes around what constitutes a powerful or authoritative voice can be limiting. During job interviews, I've encountered instances of ageism, which added an extra layer to the challenges. It's disconcerting when perceptions about age influence how one is perceived professionally. On one occasion, I even received feedback suggesting that I was asking too much for someone of my age, highlighting the persistence of age-related biases. Acknowledging these challenges is crucial, not just for personal growth but also for dismantling stereotypes that hinder the progress of women in tech. What was the biggest failure that you faced, and how did you manage it? A notable setback I encountered recently revolved around a situation with a designer on my product. Although I wasn't her direct lead, I observed signs of dissatisfaction stemming from uncertainty about her professional development and concerns about salary boosts. She wasn't receiving the necessary feedback and guidance from her designated leader, which led to a growing sense of frustration. In hindsight, I realize that I missed an opportunity to take proactive measures. Recognizing her discontent, I could have initiated a conversation with HR to address the situation and ask about her transition to me directly. As someone familiar with her tasks and accountabilities, I had the potential to influence positive change by taking on a more active role in her professional development. Unfortunately, I didn't express enough empathy and attention during that critical time. By the time I recognized the severity of the situation, the designer had already taken steps toward leaving the company. What's your biggest achievement that you're really proud of? I take great pride in successfully pitching a deck to the vice presidents to secure funding for a pivotal shift in my UGC-product. The process involved meticulous planning, a compelling presentation, and a strategic vision for the future. I have done it, and now, I am currently immersed in the exciting phase of preparing to launch a new media product leveraging the foundation built on the database from our existing product In your opinion, why do we see this huge gender gap in the tech industry, and how can we reduce it? I wish to witness more girls in tech. Notably, I observe a higher representation of young women in IT compared to their older counterparts. It appears that the older generation faced more societal limitations and constraints, contributing to the existing gap.
