Academic paper explores motives of different stakeholders in the Bitcoin community. 2015 was the turning point for Bitcoin - this is when it became a corporate affair. Miners, for instance, care about bitcoin's investment value most. This is literally their stake in the game, and they will not be satisfied by anything imaginary. The authors of the paper call it "howimaginary user experience, this is how real users would use Bitcoin" Bitcoin, and this is also the key priority of the developers.
