That reputational layer can be earned honestly. It can also be manufactured. Without explicit provenance checks, assistants cannot reliably distinguish the two at inference time. Either way, it becomes part of what the model learns is “safe” to repeat. The same layer can also be manipulated more directly. In an LLM setting, a more adversarial tactic is data poisoning: targeted corruption of training or retrieval data to bias model behavior.
