The core stack is Go, Linux system calls, WebSockets for the live GUI, HTTP and TCP reverse proxying, and UNIX sockets for internal daemon communication. Go was the obvious choice for three reasons: static compilation, performance, and concurrency. A statically compiled Go binary carries everything it needs — no runtime, no shared library dependencies, no version mismatch problems. You copy it to a server and it runs. The standard library's networking primitives are solid, goroutine-based concurrency handles hundreds of simultaneous proxy connections cleanly, and the resulting binary size is small enough to ship anywhere — including ARM devices like Raspberry Pi. There are zero external runtime dependencies. The web GUI is served directly from the binary itself. APM has no signup, no account, no mailing list to join. Nobody knew to look for it except through organic discovery. Every one of those installations represents a developer who found the project, read the manual, ran the install script, and kept it running long enough for telemetry to report back.
