Lisa Tzwu-Fang Su was born in November of 1969 in Tainan, Taiwan. She immigrated to the United States[2] at the age of 3 with her parents. Both she and her brother were encouraged to study math and science as children. At a young age, Su aspired to be an engineer, taking apart and then fixing her brother's remote control cars at the age of 10. Su obtained her master's degree in electrical engineering from MIT in 1991, later graduating with a PhD. Su worked with Texas Instruments, IBM, and Freescale Semiconductor before joining AMD in 2012. She pushed the company to diversify beyond the PC market, working with Microsoft and Sony to place AMD chips in Xbox One and PS4 game consoles. Su was appointed CEO in 2014, and she continued to work towards streamlining the product line and diversifying the company's markets.
