Manassas, USInformation Technology Specialist
I’m Carl Watts, a storage architect at the Library of Congress. I design big, boring, beautiful systems—tape libraries, object stores, and parallel filesystems—that keep tens of petabytes safe and searchable. My current obsessions: tape-to-object migrations, Prometheus/Grafana that tells the truth, and building ops teams via introduction and educating junior storage and Unix admins. Ex-Navy, ex-program manager, still allergic to vendor fairy tales. Translation: I keep your bits safe and your auditors calm—usually at the same time.
