I started fiddling with radios because they actually work when everything else fails. Over the last few years I’ve been the person who shows up at dawn, raises the mast, and makes sure a messy network keeps people talking when it matters. I prefer practical fixes: battery rituals, simple beacons, and checklists that a tired crew can follow. I write about off-grid mesh, LoRa gateways, and quick-ship hardware that a small team can assemble and trust. I test things in rain, mud, and bad light, then share what actually saved us in the field. If you want marketing copy, you won’t find it here. If you want notes you can use on your next deployment, stay a while.
