Too Long; Didn't Read

One of my personal goals set for 2016 is to brainstorm more and think bigger. It so happened that we at Dabble Lab also decided to drop the office for the next couple of months and work remotely from home. Naturally, the whiteboard became not just a want, but also a professional need.

One of my personal goals set for 2016 is to brainstorm more and think bigger. It so happened that we at Dabble Lab also decided to drop the office for the next couple of months and work remotely from home. Naturally, the whiteboard became not just a want, but also a professional need.

A couple of days agoI hung the whiteboard, and am supper excited about using it.

Here are 5 great reasons to get a whiteboard:

1. Brainstorming

This is a given. There is nothing like laying out your thoughts on this “canvas” , taking a step back and critiquing the idea. People tend to feel inspired and empowered when brainstorming on a large clean space that can become a clean slate at any moment.

2. Task list

I really like the idea of planning ahead for the day in the morning. However, I also really hate messy notebooks and I like to follow a particular order in my notes. A white board gives me an opportunity to write and erase in anyway I want to, as every day is a new slate! (Unlike a moleskine).

3. Design

Some designers prefer large pieces of paper to design on. Ifs effective, but not for everyone (too much paper lying around). I like to design on a whiteboard and then use Evernote (or another scanner app) to digitally store the design. Less clutter means more space for good thoughts.

4. Inspiration

As soon as I hung the board, I wrote “2016 is going to be great!”. Wow, that is powerful. Feel free to write inspirational quotes that push you to be your best:

Don’t count the things you do. Do the things that count.

5. Doodle your heart away!

As I said, I like to keep my notebooks clean and organized. If I doodle while doing something I tend to find a scrap piece of paper to ruin. Now I have the freedom to doodle, scan with Evernote, and doodle again.

I really look forward to using this tool daily for my work and personal needs. 2016 is going to be great, that’s a certainty.
