Too Long; Didn't Read

Every day you are closer to dying. Find out what energizes you and what drains you. Each week remove one energy drainer from your life. More successful people than you have bigger problems than you. Solve bigger problems. Win/Win is the only infinitely sustainable mindset. Yes is nothing without how.

I have collected these thoughts/ideas over the years. I assigned authorship when I could remember who it came from 😁

  1. We usually know in advance how we'll fail at something, or how we tend to quit. So before you begin, identify how you fail or bail and handle that before you begin. - Rich Litvin

  2. You can use a single tool for a year to improve your life. Find out what energizes you and what drains you. Each week remove one energy drainer from your life. You'll accomplish extraordinary things without even needing coaching. - Rich Litvin

  3. Money problems are often not money problems. Money problems are often emotional problems, or they're patterns that go back one or two generations. Analyze your parents' money beliefs & behaviors. We're often run by ways of being that aren't our own. - Rich Litvin

  4. Make every decision a Hell Yes or a Hell No. Maybes are just Hell. Get rid of all your maybes. They are sucking energy from your life. - Rich Litvin

  5. More successful people than you have bigger problems than you. Solve bigger problems. - Rich Litvin

  6. Win/Win is the only infinitely sustainable mindset. - Finite and Infinite Games book

What if all of us could win? Everybody in the deal, everybody in this thing that I’m doing/buying/selling - I want ALL to win. - JP Morgan (coach, not a banker)

  1. Assume ignorance, not malice – give people the benefit of the doubt. Envy, hatred, jealousy, and anger are simply acids that eat away at the container they’re kept in. Forgive quickly.

  2. Finding contrast in anything you do is the master key –“Don’t be the best. Be the only.” – Kevin Kelly

  3. In all areas of life - if you bring forth a problem, also propose a solution.

  4. What you call yourself is exactly what you are not - you identify with an object (feeling, thought, memory, etc.). identification with a finite object is suffering. - Ken Wilber

  5. Power and mastery come from doing what you say you will do. Integrity is everything. If you are not your word, who are you? You have nothing but your word. - Werner Erhard

  6. Yes is nothing without how. Yes is a temporary aspiration, it’s counterfeit without the how. - Chris Voss

  7. This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish selfish clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy. I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can. I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is sort of a splendid torch that I have a hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it over to future generations. - George Bernard Shaw

.

P.S. Winning, of course, is a relative term. None of us is making it out of here alive. I think it’s best not to get too caught up in ‘best ways to live’ advice because there’s no such thing.

Every day you are closer to dying. Are you living your life the way you want to?
