The First Computer “Bug”
1947The first computer "bug" was found on September 9, 1947, by Grace Hopper, an American computer scientist and United States Navy rear admiral. The "bug" was a moth that had gotten stuck in one of the relays of the Harvard Mark II computer, causing a malfunction. Hopper taped the moth into her logbook and wrote "First actual case of bug being found". This incident is often cited as the origin of the term "computer bug".
STS-64 Launches
1994On September 9, 1994, NASA's Discovery Space Shuttle launched on its 19th mission, STS-64. As the shuttle soared into the skies above Florida, the crew prepared for a ten-day mission to conduct a series of experiments and tests. Their mission was a success, and the crew returned to Earth on September 20, having advanced our understanding of science and space exploration.

Tajikistan's Independence Day
1991After decades of being under Soviet rule, Tajikistan finally declared its independence on September 9, 1991. The people of Tajikistan were overjoyed at the prospect of being able to govern their own country and shape their own future. It was a momentous occasion, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in Tajik history. The country has since made great strides in economic, social, and political development.
